Metal Haus Gallery (MHG) presents Facades and Foundations, a group exhibition of 16 works examining architecture as both image and structure. Across painting and mixed media, artists approach the built environment from multiple angles. Some render facades as portraits: lit windows, quiet streets, and city views that feel both specific and familiar, with subtle ties to San Francisco’s iconic cityscape. Others move toward abstraction, using grids, repetition, and layered surfaces to echo blueprints, scaffolding, and gridded urban systems.

The exhibition expands further through sculptural works that quite literally break architecture apart. Fragmented and reassembled, these pieces expose the tension between facade and foundation, surface and support. Materials bend, collapse, and reconfigure—reminding us that what appears stable is often anything but.

Rather than presenting architecture as static or monumental, Facades and Foundations frames it as something lived-in and evolving. A language shaped by design, but also by time, memory, and human use.

For new collectors, the exhibition offers an accessible entry point: a range of scales, styles, and price points anchored in a shared theme. Whether drawn to representational cityscapes, bold abstraction, or materially driven work, each piece invites a personal connection to the spaces we inhabit.
