Rising into Light channels a dreamscape where waves of golden light moved fluidly—radiant, powerful, and deeply calming. KC Ho translates that ethereal experience into a textured oil painting rich with movement and depth. Using a palette knife, he sculpted strokes of ochre, ivory, and shadowed gold into layered marks that flicker like sunlight diffused through water.

About the Artist

KC Ho is a Malaysian-born painter whose work navigates the intersections of queerness, cultural identity, and inner transformation. Raised in a Chinese village in Southeast Asia and later relocating to the United States to study engineering, KC’s creative journey has been one of self-reclamation. Art became his language of choice—a way to explore and affirm his identity as a gay Asian man.

KC’s paintings are emotional landscapes shaped by ritual, resilience, and reflection. Through carefully layered textures and evocative color palettes, he creates meditative environments where light becomes metaphor. His visual language blends elements of spirituality, Asian heritage, and personal memory—inviting viewers to witness healing in motion.
