About the Artist:

Samantha Swigert is an artist currently living and working in San Francisco, CA. She has been painting since 2014, and originally studied graphic arts and pursued drawing and illustration. This foundation in design and representation helped inform her later abstract works and conceptual pieces, as a basis of deconstructing narratives and exploring the depth of the 2D space. Primarily working in both oil and/or acrylic paint, Samantha uses a variety of mediums and applications, from unconventional to traditional, to manipulate and experiment with texture and color. Her works are inspired by themes and imagery taken from religious and mythological contexts to explore contemporary themes of nostalgia and belief. In 2019, Samantha graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute, with a BFA in Painting.
