A Love Rising

$3,750.00

Original artwork by Carolynn Haydu
24 inch diameter tondo
Hand painted paper collage on birch panel

Carolynn’s practice explores the emotional and psychological resonance of landscape, using abstraction to reflect the complexities of lived experience. Working with hand-painted paper layered onto panel, she constructs compositions that evoke shifting topographies—forms that feel at once geological, atmospheric, and internal.

Her work is rooted in an observation of natural rhythms, where patterns found in wood grain, water, and terrain mirror deeper human conditions. Within these layered surfaces, she considers the tension between opposing forces—violence and love, chaos and control—reflecting what she describes as a constant push and pull inherent to both nature and the human psyche.

Through a process of accumulation and reconfiguration, Carolynn builds immersive environments that resist a singular viewpoint. Color, texture, and structure operate together to translate sensation into form, inviting viewers into landscapes that are as much felt as they are seen.
