About the Work
Bold, audacious, and dynamic, this vibrant circular painting captures Fernanda’s ongoing exploration of pattern, transformation, and intuitive composition. Created for EVOKE Part 2, the piece builds on her signature style while embracing the challenge of a new format—a tondo that echoes the idea of cycles, both natural and personal.
Inspired by introspection and the continuous journey of self and artistic growth, the artist resisted simply transferring a flat image to a round canvas. Instead, she deconstructed and rebuilt her familiar visual language, allowing each shape to spiral and overlap in a rhythm all its own. Color placement became more intentional, demanding new precision as she worked with the circular frame—top and bottom, edge and center—in equal balance.
Fernanda often draws from past sketches and memories, believing that great ideas are cyclical, returning again and again in new forms. This piece is a perfect embodiment of that ethos, inviting viewers to find their own points of connection, recognition, and meaning within the layers.
With a pulse like Daft Punk’s “Around the World”—its unofficial theme song—the work invites curiosity, contemplation, and movement. It doesn't prescribe a story, but instead opens up space for individual interpretation, reflecting the shifting patterns of life itself.
