Untitled No.10

$550.00

Original artwork by Karen Chan
2025
ceramic
4.5 × 3.5 × 3.5 inches

Created to mark a decade of living in San Francisco, this handbuilt ceramic work is a love letter to the city and the natural landscape that has shaped the artist’s experience of it. Abstracted organic forms evoke eucalyptus leaves moving in the wind, the weathered trees of Golden Gate Park, and fog drifting quietly across the city.

Beginning on the wheel and developed through hours of meticulous handbuilding, the vessel grows through the accumulation of individually formed elements, creating a surface rich with movement and rhythm. Rather than depicting specific plants or landscapes, the artist translates their textures and energy into sculptural form, inviting viewers to slow down, look closely, and find wonder in the subtle details of the natural world.
