Original artwork by Greg Wieting
2025
Acrylic on raw canvas
73.5 × 66.5 × 1.5 inches
Wieting’s paintings begin in breakage. Worked, layered, and fractured surfaces retain the traces of what has accumulated and what has been taken away, creating a record felt by the body before the mind names it.
Color, pressure, and exposed layers hold the wound and the witness together. The Circle of the Sun invites the eye to move through an unresolved field, finding footing, losing it, and finding it again off-center.
